Public invited to officially dedicate the Angels by the Trail Mural

Loveland, Ohio – The public is invited to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony held along the Loveland Bike Trail to officially dedicate the “Angels by the Trail” Mural.

    Sunday

    June 11

    11 AM

The ceremony and ribbon cutting will take place at the Linda Cox Parking lot in Historic Downtown Loveland along the Loveland Bike Trail. The mural has been painted on the side of an Eads Fence and Hardware industrial building that faces the trail.

As a way of giving back, a group of Loveland Area residents, led by Stacie Lund created a special mural that is named “Angels by the Trail”. This colorful 65 X 20 foot memorial mural is facing the bike trail and the Little Miami River near the Linda Cox parking lot on Karl Brown Way in Historic downtown Loveland. The bright joyful mural is a celebration of the memory of school–aged children (ages 3-23) who lived in the Loveland community that have passed away much too soon.

The public is invited and also invited to submit more names

If you would like to have a Angel’s name, a child who has passed on and was a resident of the Loveland community and was between the ages of 3-23 added to the mural, please click the following link.

On the GoFundMe page created for the project where you can contribute to the expenses, Lund said, “Our hope is that the conversion of this plain industrial wall into the “Angels by the Trail” installation will bring joy to the families of these children and those who love them and will give our community another beautiful, bright and cheerful landmark and backdrop within our special home of Loveland.”

    by David Miller

Loveland, Ohio – Angels by the Trail will become a permanent, brightly painted memorial wall space that forever “Celebrates Loveland’s school-aged children whose lives were cut short.”

I interviewed muralist, David Uy as he was putting away his paint and coming off a rented SkyJack on Monday. The colorful 65′ X 20′ memorial will be facing the bike trail and the Little Miami River near the Linda Cox parking lot on Karl Brown Way in Historic downtown Loveland. It is being painted on a previously bare industrial wall of the Eads Fence Company.

David said he is painting Guardian Angels or Guardian Loveland Tigers by the Loveland Bike Trail.

Stacey Lund, a Loveland resident and parent is leading the project. She said, “I am a Loveland resident, parent, and neighbor. I, like many here, am passionate about giving back to this terrific community of ours for all that it has given to me and my family.”

If you see David Uy while he is finishing the mural, do what I did and ask him if you can add a few strokes. David said he had already encouraged others to add a few sprays before he is finished.

As a way of giving back, a group of Lund’s friends are in the process of creating a special mural that is named, “Angels by the Trail”. Lund added, “The bright joyful mural will be created in celebration of the memory of school–aged children, ages 3-23 who lived in the Loveland community that have passed away much too soon.”

She gives special thanks to Dale Eads of Eads Hardware and Fence for generously allowing them to use one of their large, trail-facing walls for the project.

On the GoFundMe page created for the project, Lund said, “Our hope is that the conversion of this plain industrial wall into the “Angels by the Trail” installation will bring joy to the families of these children and those who love them and will give our community another beautiful, bright and cheerful landmark and backdrop within our special home of Loveland.”

If you would like to have an Angel’s name, a child who has passed on and was a resident of the Loveland community and was between the ages of 3-23 added to the mural, please click the following link.
The feature at the center of the mural is a large set of angel wings painted in graffiti-style swooping colors and will be “Fun, whimsical, and as special as each of our ‘Angels’ was in life,” said Lund.  Angels’ names will be added throughout the design.

    FAQ:

Is there another way I can donate other than GoFundMe and Venmo?
Lund answered: “I have a donation box at each event, or you can mail a check to 118 Bares Creek Ct, Loveland, OH 45140 made out to Angels by the Trail.

    Stacey’s Inspiration…

My inspiration for Angels by the Trail – a community project, was inspired by Jenifer and Mark Winter’s Angel Alley in Mason. I thought we should have one in Loveland. With the help of Dale Eads, Great American Soft Wash, and City Manager David Kennedy, it became a reality.

    How can you help?

Follow our Facebook Group at Angels by the Trail to find out about the fundraisers and the progress of the mural.
Share with friends and family that lost a Loveland school-aged child too soon. I would love to include their child’s name in the mural. The google form is at the bottom of the GoFundMe page. GoFundMe
Consider donating. We are truly grateful for any donation we receive from anyone who supports the idea.

    Stacey’s “Why”

When I first saw Angel’s Alley in Mason, I was so touched, I felt like every community should have such a special, celebratory place. I have been touched by the loss of several children in the area. With the support of local parents who have suffered those unthinkable losses, I sought out a local artist to create the vision, including a representation of Tigers for Loveland’s school mascot and Loveland’s Little Miami River. And, I found the right wall and made it a mission to make it happen.
The GoFundMe will raise funds for the cleaning and painting of the wall itself, a bench for those wishing to visit the wall, and modest landscaping. Lund hopes that supportive businesses and community members may wish to donate.
We are truly grateful for any donation we receive from anyone who supports the idea.
    Donations are tax-deductible.

Todd Jordon family didn’t get the break we prayed for – Now you can help

Paula and Todd Jordan toasting their 16th anniversary in 2019

Loveland, Ohio – The “GoFundMe” page to help this Tiger family begins:

“Hello Loveland family and friends, we have a Tiger family in need after the heartbreaking passing of Todd Jordon.”

    It continues…

Beloved husband, father, son, uncle, friend, neighbor, and life-long resident of our beautiful Loveland, unfortunately, and shockingly passed away on January 20th, 2022. He was 52.

A little bit about Todd, he was a devoted family man. He was a great husband to his wife Paula, who he loved dearly. He unconditionally loved and was ridiculously proud of his two kiddos, Isabella and Sebastian. He was devoted to his father, Ron Jordan, and checked on him daily. He was especially attentive after the loss of his mother he adored, Beth Jordan, a few years ago. He was an attentive and caring Uncle to many nieces and nephews. And he was true to his friends. He was a sincere, kind-hearted man. When he asked how you were doing, he genuinely listened and cared about your response. And he gave the best hugs. He was quirky, fun, sometimes slightly ridiculous, and most definitely stubborn. He dreamed of Montana often as he loved the beauty of the state. And he had planned on taking his daughter, Isabella, there soon to get her situated with a summer job.

After a picture-perfect family Christmas, Todd fell ill. The whole family did. Victims of this awful pandemic time. But while everyone else got better, Todd got worse and worse. Todd had bladder cancer last year which made his fight with Covid a difficult one. After being hospitalized he, sadly, succumbed to his illness in the early evening of January 20 with family by his side. He passed peacefully.

Todd had been laid off from his job due to Covid and downsizing of his department a couple of months before the Holidays putting a strain on the family’s finances which makes this even more difficult. He had no life or health insurance. His wife Paula, unfortunately, has been in a series of accidents that limits her ability to work consistently.

Any help that can be provided to assist the family with celebrating his life and helping with the financial difficulties of losing a husband and father will be greatly appreciated.

  • The project is called Therapy Swings for Deaf Children

The project is called Therapy Swings for Deaf Children

    Dear Loveland Magazine Readers,

My name is Vincent Proctor and I’m working on my Boy Scout Eagle Project. The project benefits Ohio Valley Voices school for deaf children, located Miami Township just outside of Loveland.

GoFundMe donations will be sent directly to the school and be designated for this project. All donations are tax deductible and you will receive a receipt digitally.

Funds are only being collected through October 8, 2018, so please donate today!

You could also help by sharing this campaign on Facebook and Twitter.

The project is called Therapy Swings for Deaf Children. The swings will benefit the children by helping in the therapy treatment for a condition called Sensory Integration Disorder, which is common in deaf children.

The cost of an institutional grade swing set, installation supplies and equipment plus a large area of playground mulch bring the budget for this project much higher than is typical for Eagle projects. I really want to make this project happen for the kids but need the generous support of the community in order to achieve it.

I have opened a GoFundMe account to facilitate the funding. Could you please help get the word out? Here is the URL:

    gofundme.com/therapy-swings-fund

Thank you in advance for your help.

    Sincerely,

    Vincent Proctor

  • Jammin’ for Joey Oberholzer

    Jammin’ for Joey Oberholzer

“Please join us on September 16th and help support Joey.”

A message from Loveland Canoe and Kayak

Joey Oberholzer is the Manager at Loveland Canoe & Kayak and has worked for our family for five years. For those of you who have been to our livery, you know Joey is the heartbeat of Loveland Canoe & Kayak. We have watched with pride as he has grown into an incredible young man with great abilities, a tireless work ethic and the ability to motivate everyone around him to bring their best every day.

On July 10th after hanging out with friends Joey was on his way home when he took a serious fall, fracturing his spine and neck. He underwent 2 major surgeries, one to fix his fractured neck and another to stabilize and repair his spine. It is remarkable that he survived the fall and subsequent surgeries. He will be transferred to a rehabilitation center to work on the next obstacles, the largest being his attempt to walk again.

Although this accident was a terrible tragedy, we know that Joey will not let it define him. He will fight ever day to get stronger, and with help from his family, friends, doctors, nurses, physical therapists and generous donors, he will move forward and create a brilliant life.

Joey’s expenses will be major, including rehab expenses and modifying his home for his new mobility needs.

Please help Joey by making a difference and helping him overcome this battle by going to:
